BlueOptics SFP-AOC-10G-25M-VA-BO InfiniBand/glasvezelkabel SFP+ 25m stekker/stekker

The BlueOptics SFP-AOC-10G-25M-VA-BO InfiniBand/fibre optic cable SFP+ 25m Male/Male is a 25-metre active optical cable designed for high-speed links between SFP+ ports. This cable supports 10 Gigabit data transmission over an optical medium and features SFP+ form-factor connectors on both ends. It is intended for use in networking environments where low latency, high bandwidth and electromagnetic immunity are required, such as data centers and high-performance computing clusters.

Advantages

This active optical cable delivers a consistent 10 Gb/s link while eliminating the need for separate transceivers and fibre patch cords. As an AOC, it provides lightweight and flexible cabling with lower power consumption compared with electrical copper alternatives at similar distances. The SFP+ male-to-male configuration ensures plug-and-play compatibility with equipment that accepts standard SFP+ modules and reduces signal loss associated with additional connector pairs.

Suitable for

• Connecting servers and switches within racks and between adjacent racks in data centers
• High-performance computing interconnects where low latency and high throughput are required
• Storage area networks (SAN) and aggregation of 10 GbE or InfiniBand links
• Short to medium reach optical links inside network equipment rooms

Key specifications

• Length: 25 metres
• Connector type: SFP+ male on both ends
• Nominal data rate: 10 Gigabit per second
• Cable type: Active optical cable (AOC)
• Medium: fibre optic (optical glass fibres inside AOC)
• Typical use: short-to-medium reach interconnects in rack and cabinet environments

How to use

Install the cable by inserting each SFP+ connector into the corresponding SFP+ port on your devices until the module latches. Ensure both devices are powered off or that hot-swap procedures recommended by the equipment manufacturer are followed to avoid unintended link negotiation issues. After physical connection, verify link status through device LEDs or management interfaces and configure network settings as required by your topology. Handle the cable by the connector bodies and avoid tight bends to maintain optical performance.

Recommendations

For reliable operation, route the cable to avoid sharp bends and mechanical stress; maintain the manufacturer’s minimum bend radius. Use this AOC for intra-rack and short inter-rack connections up to 25 m and prefer it where EMI immunity and reduced weight are priorities. Confirm SFP+ compatibility with your hardware vendor and update port firmware if required for optimal performance.
