Bouwsteenset COBI IJN Akagi vliegdekschip 3573 onderdelen

The AKAGI aircraft carrier was one of the most important vessels of the Imperial Japanese Navy during World War II, serving in the 1st Air Fleet and participating in the attack on Pearl Harbor in December 1941 and the Battle of Midway, where it was sunk in June 1942. The COBI model recreates the IJN Akagi at a scale of 1:300 with 3,573 pieces and a finished length of 87 cm, using contemporary construction elements to reflect the ship’s historic proportions and external features as faithfully as possible.

Advantages

The set includes movable elements such as two adjustable aircraft elevators, rotating turrets, raisable and lowerable gun barrels, propellers and rudders, plus five printed mini aircraft that can be placed on the flight deck. Construction requires no glue or paint because all parts are COBI blocks with printed details. A stable black display stand with a name and scale plaque is included for presentation.

Suitable for

• Collectors of historical military models
• Enthusiasts of COBI building sets and large-scale constructions
• Advanced builders and hobbyists aged 10 and up who enjoy multi-hour projects

How to use

Follow the included stage-by-stage instruction booklet to assemble the model. Start by sorting parts and building subassemblies according to the manual, then combine larger sections into the completed hull and superstructure. Install the movable elements—elevators, turrets, propellers and rudders—during the specified assembly steps. Place the printed mini aircraft on the deck after finishing construction and mount the model on the supplied display stand for stable presentation.

Recommendations

Recommended for experienced builders and collectors due to the large part count and long assembly time; provide a well-lit, organized workspace with sorted parts trays to simplify construction. Keep small parts away from young children.
