Bulletcamera Hikvision DS-2CD2T87G3-LIY 8 MP ColorVu, 2,8 mm objectief

Hikvision DS-2CD2T87G3-LIY is an 8 MP ColorVu bullet camera with a fixed 2.8 mm lens designed for outdoor IP surveillance. The camera provides full-color imaging in low-light environments using ColorVu technology, capturing detailed 8 MP video at standard frame rates. Its bullet form factor and fixed wide-angle lens make it suitable for monitoring entrances, parking areas and perimeter zones where consistent color detail is important for identification and situational awareness.

Advantages

The camera delivers high-resolution 8 MP video combined with ColorVu low-light performance to maintain color fidelity after sunset or in dimly lit scenes. A 2.8 mm fixed lens offers a wide field of view for covering broad areas with fewer cameras. The device is designed for continuous outdoor use and integrates with common IP surveillance systems for straightforward deployment and centralized management.

Suitable for

• Monitoring building entrances and access points
• Surveillance of parking lots and vehicle traffic
• Perimeter and fence-line observation
• Retail storefronts and outdoor display areas
• Residential and small business outdoor security

Key specifications

• Image sensor resolution: 8 megapixels
• Low-light imaging: ColorVu technology for full-color images in low illumination
• Lens: fixed 2.8 mm wide-angle lens
• Form factor: bullet-style outdoor camera
• Video output: network (IP) video stream compatible with standard NVRs and VMS

How to use

Install the camera on a stable surface such as a wall or soffit at a height and angle that covers the desired scene; the 2.8 mm lens provides a wide field of view so position the camera to avoid excessive close-range distortion. Connect the camera to your IP network and power source following the manufacturer's installation guidelines, then add the device to your network video recorder or video management system. Configure exposure, white balance and compression settings through the camera's web interface or VMS to optimize image quality for the specific lighting conditions of the site.

Recommendations

For best results, combine the ColorVu camera with balanced scene lighting and proper camera placement to maximize color detail at night. Use a PoE-enabled switch or midspan for simplified power and network cabling. Periodically verify firmware and configuration settings to maintain compatibility with NVR or VMS software and to ensure reliable continuous monitoring.
