Datalogic PowerScan PD9531-DPMK2 - Barcodescanner

Reading Direct Part Marked (DPM) codes on metal, plastic, and other challenging surfaces is a common pain point in manufacturing and logistics. The Datalogic PowerScan PD9531-DPMK2 tackles this with a high-performance 2D area imager and specialized DPM decoding algorithms, ensuring reliable capture of dot peen, laser etched, and inkjet marked codes even when contrast is low or surfaces are reflective.

Who is it for

This rugged corded scanner is built for industrial environments such as automotive, electronics, and aerospace manufacturing, as well as warehouse and distribution centers. It suits operators who need a durable, fast, and accurate tool for reading 1D, 2D, and postal codes, including difficult DPM marks. Its ergonomic design and motion-sensing technology make it ideal for high-volume scanning tasks.

Main features

• Advanced 2D imaging with DPM decoding for dot peen, laser, and chemical etch marks.
• Multi-interface connectivity: USB, RS-232, and Keyboard Wedge for flexible integration.
• IP65-rated enclosure protects against dust and water jets; withstands 2.5 m drops to concrete.

Tips

For optimal DPM reading, position the scanner at a slight angle to the marked surface to reduce glare. Use the Green Spot to confirm successful reads without looking at the screen. The scanner's multi-interface cable allows quick connection to different host systems; ensure the correct interface cable is selected for your setup. Regularly clean the scan window with a soft, lint-free cloth to maintain performance in dusty environments.
