DeLOCK USB-kabel USB 3.2 Gen 2 8m USB C zwart 84256

This USB cable by Delock enables connection between a device with a USB Type-C™ connector and a PC or laptop equipped with a free USB Type-C™ port. The active optical design uses optical fibre to transmit high-speed signals, making the cable thinner, lighter and capable of longer-distance transmission without signal loss. It supports USB 3.2 Gen 2 (10 Gbps) data transfer, DisplayPort 2.1 with 4 lanes for video up to 8K@60 Hz via USB-C Alt Mode, and USB Power Delivery up to 60 W (20 V / 3 A). The cable is 8 m long, has USB-C connectors on both ends and comes in black. Note: this cable is compatible only with DisplayPort (DP Alt Mode) devices and is not compatible with Thunderbolt™ devices.

Advantages

The active optical construction provides lower weight and smaller diameter compared with copper cables while preserving high-speed transmission over long distances. Support for DisplayPort 2.1 (4 lanes) enables connection of USB-C monitors up to 7680 x 4320 @ 60 Hz when the host supports DP Alt Mode. USB 3.2 Gen 2 compatibility allows data transfer rates up to 10 Gbps, and USB Power Delivery up to 60 W supplies power to connected devices. The 8 m length allows flexible placement of devices and peripherals.

Suitable for

• Connecting a USB-C monitor to a computer with USB-C DisplayPort Alternate Mode (up to 8K@60 Hz)
• High-speed data transfer between USB-C devices and a PC or laptop (up to 10 Gbps)
• Powering or charging USB-C devices using USB Power Delivery up to 60 W
• Setups requiring long cable runs where copper cables would suffer signal degradation

How to use

Connect one USB-C connector to the host device (PC, laptop or docking station) and the other USB-C connector to the target device (monitor, peripheral or another computer). For video output, ensure the host device supports DisplayPort Alternate Mode over USB-C. For maximum data throughput, connect USB 10 Gbps compatible devices. Power Delivery will provide up to 60 W when both host and device support USB PD. The cable does not work with Thunderbolt devices; do not expect Thunderbolt functionality.

Recommendations

Use this active optical USB-C cable where long runs are required and copper-based cables would degrade signal quality. Ensure both host and target devices support the necessary standards (DP Alt Mode for video, USB 3.2 Gen 2 for 10 Gbps data, and USB PD for power) to achieve the specified performance.
