DIGITUS HDMI 2.0 Extender-Set 70m 4K/60Hz 18 Gbps HDCP 2.2 HDR PoC

The DIGITUS AV transmitter & receiver HDMI Extender Set (DS-55506) transmits HDMI signals over a single CAT cable up to 70 m with support for UHD resolutions up to 4K2K (3840 x 2160) at 60 Hz with 4:4:4 chroma. The compact black units offer HDMI 2.0 compatibility, HDCP 2.2/1.4 support, HDR capability, automatic EDID detection and an HDMI loop-out for a locally connected monitor. Power over Cable (PoC) allows only one unit to require an external 12 V power adapter; typical power consumption is 3.84 W.

Advantages

This extender set delivers up to 18 Gbps video bandwidth to carry 4K/60 Hz 4:4:4 signals over Cat6–Cat8 cables with a maximum transmission distance of 70 m. Built-in HDCP 2.2/1.4 and HDR support ensure compatibility with modern sources and displays. PoC reduces cabling complexity by requiring external power for only one unit, while automatic EDID detection and HDMI loop-out simplify installation and local monitoring.

Suitable for

• Extending HDMI sources to remote displays in meeting rooms and classrooms
• Connecting media players or PCs to distant TVs or monitors
• AV installations in retail, hospitality or exhibition spaces
• Home theatre setups requiring long cable runs with 4K/60 Hz support

How to use

Connect the HDMI source (PC, media player, set-top box) to the transmitter HDMI input and connect the receiver HDMI output to the remote display. Use a single Cat6/6A/7/8 cable between the transmitter and receiver; ensure cable runs do not exceed 70 m for 4K/60 Hz 4:4:4 operation. If needed, connect the HDMI loop-out on the transmitter to a local monitor for source monitoring. Apply external 12 V power to one unit only to enable PoC powering for the paired device.

Recommendations

For stable 4K/60 Hz 4:4:4 transmission at longer distances, use high-quality shielded Cat6A or higher-rated cables and avoid running Ethernet alongside high-power electrical lines. Verify source and display compatibility with HDCP 2.2 when using protected content.
