Draadloos outdoor access point Tenda OAP1200 dualband AC1200 802.11a/b/g/n/ac

The Tenda OAP1200 Dual Band AC1200 Wireless Outdoor Access Point provides outdoor wireless connectivity with support for 802.11a/b/g/n/ac and combined wireless speeds up to 1200 Mbps. Designed for external installation, the unit incorporates a weatherproof enclosure and high-gain antennas to extend coverage and maintain stable connections across larger outdoor areas. Multiple operation modes — including Access Point (AP), Repeater, and Client — enable flexible deployment options for different network topologies and requirements.

Advantages

The outdoor-rated housing protects the device from environmental exposure, allowing installation on buildings, poles, or other outdoor structures. Dual-band operation on 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz bands helps balance range and throughput, while support for the 802.11ac standard provides higher wireless performance for compatible clients. High-gain antennas increase signal reach and stability, and selectable operation modes offer adaptability for expanding or bridging networks without replacing existing infrastructure.

Suitable for

• Extending wireless coverage across outdoor spaces such as campuses, parks, or courtyards
• Providing high-speed outdoor Wi‑Fi for small businesses, cafés with outdoor seating, or event areas
• Bridging remote network segments where wired connections are impractical

Key specifications

• Wireless standards: 802.11a/b/g/n/ac
• Maximum combined throughput: up to 1200 Mbps
• Dual-band operation: 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz
• Outdoor weatherproof enclosure suitable for external mounting
• Multiple operation modes: AP, Repeater, Client
• High-gain antennas for extended coverage and improved link stability

How to use

Mount the access point in a location with clear line of sight toward the coverage area, fastening it securely to a wall or pole according to local mounting guidelines. Connect the device to power and to your network backbone; follow the manufacturer's setup interface to select the desired operation mode (AP, Repeater, or Client) and configure SSID, security (WPA2 or compatible options), and channel settings. Verify coverage and client connectivity, and adjust antenna orientation or placement if necessary to optimize signal strength.

Recommendations

For sustained outdoor performance, choose installation points elevated above ground level with minimal obstructions and away from large metallic objects or dense foliage. Use the 5 GHz band for higher throughput when clients are within close range, and the 2.4 GHz band to maximize range. Regularly check firmware updates from the manufacturer and apply security settings appropriate for public or business networks to maintain reliable and secure operation.
