Draadloze USB-adapter Extralink U1200AC AC1200 dual-band, geel kunststof

The Extralink USB Adapter U1200AC is a compact dual-band AC1200 wireless USB network adapter in yellow plastic that adds Wi‑Fi connectivity to desktops, laptops and other USB‑equipped devices. It supports operation on both 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz bands, enabling standard wireless networking and internet access where internal wireless is absent or requires an upgrade. The adapter connects via a USB port and provides compatibility with common operating systems for straightforward integration into home and small office setups.

Advantages

The adapter offers dual‑band operation to reduce interference and improve throughput on less congested 5 GHz channels while maintaining extended range on 2.4 GHz. Its AC1200 class performance supports basic streaming and web usage. The compact form factor and USB interface require no internal installation, and the distinctive yellow plastic housing makes the adapter easy to locate among peripherals.

Suitable for

• Adding Wi‑Fi to desktop computers without built‑in wireless
• Upgrading older laptops or devices to dual‑band Wi‑Fi
• Temporary or portable wireless connectivity for presentations and travel
• Small office or home networks requiring a simple USB‑based adapter

Key specifications

• Wireless standard: IEEE 802.11ac/n/g/b
• Bandwidth class: AC1200 (combined up to approximately 1200 Mbps theoretical)
• Frequency bands: 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz dual‑band support
• Interface: USB (standard USB port required)
• Enclosure material and colour: yellow plastic housing

How to use

Insert the adapter into an available USB port on the target device. Install drivers if required by the operating system—many modern systems will recognize the adapter automatically, but a driver from the device supplier may provide full functionality. After installation, use the system network manager to scan for and connect to available Wi‑Fi networks, selecting the appropriate SSID and entering the network password as needed.

Recommendations

Place the adapter in a USB port with a clear line of sight to the wireless router where possible to improve signal reception. For consistent performance on crowded networks, prefer the 5 GHz band for latency‑sensitive tasks and the 2.4 GHz band for extended range. If USB port placement causes signal obstruction, consider using a short USB extension cable to reposition the adapter.
