DVD-writer HP Z2 TWR 9.5mm slank ODD optisch station 4L5K0AA

The HP Z2 TWR DVD-Writer is a slim optical disc drive with a 9.5mm height designed for read and write operations on standard DVD and CD media. Built for compact workstations and systems that require an internal optical drive in a low-profile bay, this unit supports typical data storage, software installation, media playback and archival tasks while maintaining a small physical footprint.

Advantages

The drive's slim 9.5mm form factor enables installation in space-constrained desktop towers and compatible small-form-factor enclosures. As an internal optical drive, it integrates with SATA interfaces common to modern workstations and offers reliable disc read/write performance for retrieving, backing up and distributing data. Its compact dimensions reduce space usage without sacrificing standard optical functionality.

Key specifications

• Form factor: slim internal optical disc drive, 9.5 mm height
• Drive type: DVD-Writer supporting CD and DVD media read/write
• Interface: SATA connection for data and power integration
• Compatibility: designed for installation in compatible desktop towers and small-form-factor workstation bays
• Functionality: supports standard optical disc operations — read, write, and playback

How to use

Install the drive into an available slim internal bay of a compatible workstation, secure it with the appropriate mounting hardware and connect to the system via the SATA data and power ports. After physical installation, verify that the operating system detects the drive; install any required drivers or firmware updates from the system vendor if necessary. Use standard operating system tools or third-party burning and playback software to read, write and play optical discs.

Recommendations

Use manufacturer-recommended blank media for best write reliability and verify written discs after burning. Keep the drive and discs free from dust and handle discs by their edges to avoid recording errors. When installing the drive into a workstation, ensure the system is powered off and unplugged to prevent damage.
