EDID-emulator Lindy HDMI 2.0 32115

The Lindy HDMI 2.0 EDID Emulator Adapter ensures continuous delivery of EDID information for systems that require uninterrupted EDID signals. It is suitable for use with AV/KVM extenders, switches and splitters, and can replace a monitor to keep a PC or server graphics card active for remote access. The adapter supports resolutions up to Ultra HD 4K at 60Hz (via cloning), includes High-Dynamic Range support and can passthrough HDCP 2.2 content.

Advantages

The emulator overcomes EDID-related interruptions by cloning a connected HDMI display’s EDID in under 10 seconds or by using preset EDID profiles for common resolution/timing combinations. With two HDMI connectors, compact black housing and support for 4K60 HDR and HDCP 2.2 passthrough, it provides a simple, hardware-based solution for stabilising HDMI signal negotiations between source and display or networked AV equipment.

Suitable for

• AV and KVM extender setups that lose EDID communication
• Switches and splitters needing persistent EDID data
• Servers and PCs requiring a virtual display for remote access
• Digital signage systems where EDID is not passed back reliably

How to use

Connect the emulator between the source (graphics card, PC, media player) and the downstream device or extender using standard HDMI cables. To clone the EDID from a display, attach the display to the emulator and follow the device’s cloning procedure; cloning is completed in under 10 seconds. Alternatively, leave the emulator unpaired to use its built-in preset EDID profiles for common resolutions and timings. Ensure cables and connected equipment support the required bandwidth for 4K60 and HDR when using those modes.

Recommendations

For reliable 4K@60Hz HDR operation, use high-speed HDMI cables rated for the necessary bandwidth and verify that source and display devices support HDCP 2.2. When deploying with extenders, switches or splitters, perform EDID cloning with the target display connected to capture the correct timing and audio capability information.
