Ferrule cleaner Extralink WUN014 800+ reinigingscycli groen wit

The Extralink WUN014 ferrule cleaner is a compact fiber optic connector cleaning tool designed for precise cleaning of ferrule end faces on SC, FC, ST and E2000 connectors. Its special cleaning fabric removes dirt and residue while antistatic properties reduce dust attraction after cleaning. With a lightweight body of approximately 40 g and a color-coded green and white design, this tool provides over 800 cleaning cycles for repeated use on patch panels and individually mounted adapters.

Advantages

The cleaner delivers reliable, repeatable cleaning performance for ferrule faces without the need for liquids or swabs. Its fabric material effectively captures contaminants and the antistatic treatment helps keep connector end faces cleaner for longer. The compact and lightweight form factor simplifies handling in confined rack spaces or field operations, and the high cycle count reduces the need for frequent replacement.

Suitable for

• Cleaning ferrule end faces of SC, FC, ST and E2000 connectors
• Maintenance of patch panels and fiber optic adapters
• On-site field service and installation tasks
• Laboratory or workshop inspection and preparation of fiber connectors

Key specifications

• Supported connector types: SC, FC, ST, E2000
• Targeted cleaning area: ferrule end face
• Cleaning medium: special antistatic fabric
• Cleaning capacity: more than 800 cleaning cycles
• Weight: approximately 40 g
• Color: green and white

How to use

Remove the protective cap if present, align the cleaner with the connector ferrule and gently insert the ferrule into the cleaning aperture. Rotate or actuate the cleaner according to the tool design to draw the ferrule across the cleaning fabric, removing contaminants from the end face. Inspect the connector end face with a fiber microscope or inspection scope after cleaning and repeat the process if necessary. Replace the cap after use to preserve the cleaning surface and keep the tool free of dust.

Recommendations

Use the ferrule cleaner before mating connectors and prior to testing or measurement to avoid contamination-related signal loss. Store the tool in a clean, dry environment and avoid touching the cleaning fabric with bare fingers. If heavy contamination is present, consider a preliminary cleaning with approved wipe-and-solvent procedures followed by the WUN014 for final polishing.
