Fiberhome micro-glasvezelkabel FIBERHOME 2,5 mm, 2 FO G.657A1, PE-mantel, oranje, trommel van 4 km

Single-mode micro optical cable FIBERHOME 2.5 mm with 2 fibres (2 FO) features G.657A1 bend-insensitive fiber in a compact 2.5 mm diameter construction. The cable has a polyethylene (PE) outer jacket in orange and is supplied wound on a 4 km drum. It is engineered for fiber-to-the-home (FTTH), short-haul distribution and mixed indoor/outdoor duct installations where a small diameter and good bend performance are required.

Advantages

The compact 2.5 mm design reduces space requirements and simplifies routing through tight ducts and customer premises. G.657A1 bend-insensitive fibre improves signal reliability in environments with tight bends and small-radius terminations. The PE outer jacket offers mechanical protection and weather resistance for outdoor sections, while the orange sheath provides clear visual identification for single-mode lines. A long 4 km drum supply minimizes jointing and reduces installation time on longer distribution runs.

Suitable for

• Fiber-to-the-home (FTTH) drop lines and subscriber connections
• Short-haul distribution in apartment buildings and campus networks
• Indoor/outdoor duct installations and micro-duct deployment
• Environments requiring tight bend routing and compact cable trays

Key specifications

• Fibre type: single-mode, bend-insensitive (G.657A1)
• Number of fibres: 2
• Cable diameter: 2.5 mm
• Outer jacket material: polyethylene (PE)
• Sheath color: orange
• Delivery form: wound on a 4 km drum

How to use

Plan the routing path to avoid unnecessary sharp bends and mechanical strain. Pull the micro cable gently through ducts or trays using appropriate lubricants and pulling equipment rated for small-diameter fiber cables. Secure the cable at regular intervals and provide strain relief at termination points. When preparing fibers for splicing or connectorization, follow standard fiber-optic handling procedures: strip the outer jacket and buffer, clean and cleave fibres with certified tools, and use fusion splicing or pre-polished connectors as required.

Recommendations

Maintain bend radii recommended for G.657A1 fibres during installation and service to preserve optical performance; avoid exceeding the manufacturer’s specified tensile and crush limits. Use dedicated fiber cleaning materials and factory-calibrated splicing equipment to ensure low-loss terminations and reliable long-term operation.
