Glasvezelkabel FIBERHOME MICRO kabel 2,5 mm 8FO G.657A1 PE oranje 2 km trommel

Optical fiber cable FIBERHOME MICRO CABLE 2.5mm 8FO G.657A1 PE orange on a 2 km drum is a single‑armored micro cable engineered for access, distribution and duct installations. The compact 2.5 mm outer diameter combines with eight bend‑insensitive fibers compliant with ITU‑T G.657A1 to deliver reliable signal transmission in constrained spaces. The polyethylene (PE) outer sheath in orange provides environmental protection for outdoor and indoor/outdoor deployments while the 2 km drum format simplifies handling and long continuous runs.

Advantages

This micro cable offers a small form factor that reduces space requirements in ducts and trays while supporting standard fiber splicing and termination. Bend‑insensitive G.657A1 fibers improve performance around tight bends and in patching points, reducing loss caused by bending. The single armor and PE jacket balance mechanical protection and flexibility for both indoor/outdoor installation scenarios. Supplied on a 2 km drum, the cable is suitable for longer continuous pulls and reduces the need for frequent jointing.

Suitable for

• Fiber‑to‑the‑home (FTTH) drop and distribution networks
• Indoor/outdoor duct and conduit installations
• Patching cabinets, intermediate distribution frames and fiber splicing points
• Environments with limited bending radius or tight routing paths

Key specifications

• Number of fibers: 8 optical fibers (8FO)
• Fiber type: ITU‑T G.657A1 bend‑insensitive single‑mode fibers
• Outer diameter: 2.5 mm micro cable
• Sheath material: Polyethylene (PE), orange jacket
• Armoring: single armored construction for mechanical protection
• Length: 2 km on a drum

How to use

Plan the route and confirm duct or tray capacity for a 2.5 mm micro cable before pulling. Use appropriate cable lubricants and a steady, controlled pulling force within the manufacturer's recommended limits to avoid excess tension. Unwind the cable from the drum to maintain reel tension and prevent kinks. At termination points, prepare the fiber ends using standard stripping, cleaving and splicing or connectorization methods compatible with G.657A1 single‑mode fibers. Ensure proper sealing and strain relief at outdoor entry points and cabinets to maintain environmental protection.

Recommendations

Store the drum horizontally on a suitable support during unwinding, avoid sharp bends below the specified minimum bend radius for G.657A1 fibers and protect exposed fibers from moisture and dirt. For long runs, monitor pulling tension and use intermediate rollers if required. For final network performance, verify insertion loss and return loss after splicing or connectorization using appropriate test equipment.
