FireWire-kabel ShiverPeaks AK FW 6-4 3 m — 4-pin naar 6-pin, 3,0 m lengte

Shielded FireWire cable ShiverPeaks AK FW 6-4 3m is a 3.0 m cable that provides a direct connection between devices equipped with 4-pin and 6-pin IEEE 1394 (FireWire) ports. The cable is intended for data transfer and device linking where FireWire is required, enabling communication between audio interfaces, camcorders, external drives and other legacy equipment. Its shielded construction reduces electromagnetic interference and preserves signal integrity over the full cable length.

Advantages

The cable offers a straightforward 4-pin to 6-pin wiring configuration that allows connection of bus-powered devices to host ports or powered devices to bus-only ports without adapters. Shielding along the entire length improves noise rejection and helps maintain stable data rates. A flexible outer jacket facilitates routing and placement in studio, home office or field environments while the 3.0 m length provides extended reach between devices.

Suitable for

• Connecting audio interfaces to computers or FireWire-equipped routing devices
• Linking camcorders and video equipment to recorders or capture cards
• Attaching external hard drives or RAID enclosures to FireWire hosts
• Integrating legacy FireWire peripherals in studio and production setups
• Temporary field connections where a 3.0 m cable is required

Key specifications

• Connector types: 4-pin (one end) and 6-pin (other end) IEEE 1394
• Cable length: 3.0 metres
• Shielding: full cable shielding for improved EMI protection
• Application: FireWire data and device connections for audio, video and storage equipment
• Jacket: flexible outer jacket for easy routing

How to use

Plug the 6-pin connector into the host or power-providing FireWire port and insert the 4-pin connector into the bus-powered peripheral, or vice versa depending on device port types. Ensure both devices are powered off when connecting or disconnecting to reduce the risk of data corruption. After connection, power the devices and verify that the host recognizes the peripheral and that data transfer or device control functions operate normally.

Recommendations

For reliable operation, avoid tight bends and excessive tension on the cable, and keep it away from strong sources of electromagnetic noise. Use the 3.0 m length to position devices for stable connections in studio or field environments and check device compatibility with IEEE 1394 standards prior to use.
