Glasvezelkabel SC violet 5m ShiverPeaks 77918/4

The ShiverPeaks 77918/4 is a 5 m OM4 fibre optic cable with SC connectors on both ends designed for full duplex optical links. With a 50 µm core diameter and multimode OM4 grade construction, this cable supports high-speed data transmission and low attenuation across short to medium distances. It is engineered for environments where reliable, low-latency optical connections are required, such as server rooms and high-performance computing installations.

Advantages

This OM4 fibre cable offers high bandwidth capability and improved modal dispersion performance compared with lower OM grades, enabling higher data rates and longer reach for multimode links. The SC connectors provide stable push-pull mating and consistent optical performance. The 5 m length balances flexibility and manageability, allowing neat routing in rack and patch panel setups while minimizing excess slack. Overall, the cable delivers consistent signal integrity and compatibility with standard multimode optical equipment.

Suitable for

• Data center patching between switches, servers and patch panels
• High-performance computing clusters and storage area networks
• Enterprise backbone and horizontal cabling in telecom rooms
• Optical lab setups and testing environments requiring OM4 multimode links

Key specifications

• Connector type: SC to SC, duplex
• Fibre type: Multimode, OM4
• Core diameter: 50 µm
• Length: 5 m
• Transmission mode: Full duplex
• Typical use: Short to medium distance multimode optical links

How to use

Inspect connector endfaces before installation and clean with appropriate fibre cleaning tools if contamination is present. Route the 5 m OM4 cable through cable management paths or horizontal runs, avoiding tight bends and compression that can increase loss. Insert SC connectors into compatible SC duplex adapters or transceiver ports until a secure click is felt. Verify link integrity and optical power levels with a power meter or network diagnostics after connection.

Recommendations

For optimal performance, maintain bend radii above the manufacturer’s minimum specification, keep connector endfaces clean, and use labelled cable management to reduce handling and stress. Use this OM4 cable where multimode high-bandwidth performance is required and match it with OM4-compliant transceivers and patch panels to ensure predictable link behaviour.
