Hama Premium UV 390 Nano ultraviolet (UV) camerafilter 58 mm

The Hama Premium UV 390 Nano 58 mm is an ultraviolet camera filter designed to reduce haze and improve image clarity while providing physical protection for the lens. Made from premium HD UV lens glass and fitted with a multi-layer NSC18 coating on both sides, the filter blocks UV rays up to 390 nm and preserves natural colour reproduction. Its ultra-thin, wide mount and blackened inner edges minimise vignetting and reflections, allowing the filter to remain mounted permanently without significant change to the lens front profile.

Advantages

This filter features a nine-layer vapour-deposited NSC18 anti-reflective coating on each side to maximise light transmission and minimise ghosting. A nano-coating creates a lotus effect that repels water, oil and dirt and makes cleaning easier, while the glass and mount are scratch- and shock-resistant. Coating on both filter surfaces maintains contrast and brilliance, and an edge sealant reduces the risk of soiling. The robust black anodised metal mount retains its shape across temperature changes.

Suitable for

• Outdoor landscape and travel photography
• Photography in hazy or bright UV-prone conditions
• Protecting lens front from dust, scratches and light impacts
• Use with 58 mm lens threads where minimal vignetting is required

Key specifications

• Model: Hama Premium UV 390 Nano
• Filter size: 58 mm
• Glass quality: premium HD UV lens glass
• Coating: NSC18 multi-layer anti-reflective (nine layers each side) and nano lotus coating
• UV blocking: up to 390 nm
• Mount: black anodised metal with blackened inner edges and edge sealant
• Design: ultra-thin, wide mount to reduce vignetting

How to use

Screw the 58 mm filter carefully onto the lens thread until it is snug; avoid over-tightening. The filter can remain mounted during regular shooting and provides continuous UV reduction and physical protection. Clean the coated surfaces with a soft microfiber cloth or lens-cleaning solution suitable for multi-coated optics to preserve the nano-coating and anti-reflective layers.

Recommendations

For best results in bright or hazy outdoor conditions, use this UV filter to reduce ultraviolet-induced blue cast and haze. Store the filter in its protective case when not in use and avoid abrasive contact to maintain the nano-coating and glass surface.
