Hama UV-filter 390, 49mm ultraviolet (UV) camerafilter

The Ultraviolet (UV) camera filter Hama UV Filter 390 49mm is a screw-on filter designed to reduce atmospheric haze and improve image clarity in outdoor photography. It provides a protective flat surface for the front element of 49mm lenses, helping to prevent scratches, dust and fingerprints while preserving optical performance. The filter is double-sided coated to minimize flare and maintain visible light transmission while absorbing ultraviolet light.

Advantages

This Hama UV filter protects the camera lens from mechanical damage and contamination, making lens cleaning easier thanks to its flat and accessible surface. By absorbing UV radiation it reduces pale or washed-out tones caused by ultraviolet light, improving contrast and sharpness in both colour and black-and-white images. The dual-sided coating helps reduce reflections and flare when shooting toward bright light sources.

Suitable for

• Outdoor landscape and travel photography
• Everyday lens protection for 49mm front threads
• Black-and-white and colour photography where reduced UV haze is desired

Recommendations

Use the Hama UV Filter 390 as a permanent protective element on your lens during outdoor shooting to reduce UV haze and to protect the front element; remove only when using specialized filters (polarizers, ND) that require clear access to the lens or when stacking filters would cause vignetting.
