Hand-barcodescanner Datalogic Gryphon I GM4500

The Datalogic Gryphon I GM4500 is a handheld barcode reader designed for reliable 1D and 2D code capture in retail, logistics and healthcare environments. It combines an omnidirectional megapixel imager with warm-white 2D illumination, ergonomic design and durable construction (IP52), offering a lightweight solution with wireless connectivity and a long-lasting 3250 mAh lithium-ion battery.

Advantages

The Gryphon 4500 series offers fast, omnidirectional scanning of common 1D and 2D barcodes, with High Density (HD) variants for small or condensed codes and a red-illumination option for Digital Watermarking. Motionix™ motion sensing switches the device automatically between handheld and presentation modes. Wireless options include Bluetooth (GBT) and Datalogic STAR Cordless System (GM). Wireless charging improves reliability and reduces maintenance needs, while healthcare models feature disinfectant-ready, anti-microbial enclosures.

How to use

Pick up the Gryphon I GM4500 to activate handheld mode automatically via Motionix™ and aim the imager at the barcode. For presentation or hands-free scanning, place the scanner in the adjustable cradle so it returns to stand mode. Use the appropriate wireless connection (Bluetooth or STAR) to pair with your host device following the manufacturer pairing instructions. Place the scanner on its cradle to charge the battery via the wireless charging system; ensure the cradle and scanner contacts are kept free of heavy contamination for optimal performance.

Recommendations

For best scanning performance, select the High Density (HD) variant when routinely reading very small or densely packed codes. When used in healthcare settings, choose the disinfectant-ready model and follow facility cleaning protocols compatible with the device enclosure.
