HID Identity OMNIKEY 5427 CK smartcard-lezer USB 2.0 zwart

The HID Identity OMNIKEY 5427 CK smart card reader is a USB 2.0 indoor reader designed to support a wide range of low- and high-frequency credentials. Available in a standard USB version and a Bluetooth-enabled variant, the OMNIKEY 5427 CK reads technologies such as iCLASS Seos, iCLASS SE, iCLASS, MIFARE, Indala Prox and HID Prox, and also supports HID Mobile Access via Bluetooth and NFC. The reader connects via CCID so it can be integrated without installing drivers, and it comes in a compact black housing with a 1.5 m cable and a lightweight 100 g design.

Advantages

The OMNIKEY 5427 CK supports both low- and high-frequency credentials and offers a single-device solution for mixed-technology environments, simplifying migration and reducing hardware variety. The CCID USB interface eliminates driver installation and simplifies maintenance. The Bluetooth variant enables use of mobile access credentials for computer, network or cloud access, while keyboard wedge and keystroke emulation let the reader directly input card data into applications. An integrated web-based management tool provides browser-based configuration without special training.

Suitable for

• Secure access control and identity verification
• Integration with desktop applications requiring card data input
• Environments mixing low- and high-frequency credential technologies
• Mobile credential deployments using Bluetooth or NFC

How to use

Connect the OMNIKEY 5427 CK to a host using the USB 2.0 cable; the CCID interface allows immediate use without driver installation in most operating systems. Present a supported card or mobile credential to the reader—if using the Bluetooth model, follow the device pairing process to enable mobile access. When keyboard wedge or keystroke emulation is enabled, card data is sent directly to the active application as keystrokes. Use the built-in web-based management tool from a browser to configure reader settings as needed.

Recommendations

Install the reader in an indoor, dry location and avoid exposure to extreme temperatures or moisture. For mobile credential use, ensure the host device and mobile phone have Bluetooth enabled and follow HID Mobile Access configuration guidelines. Use the web management tool to lock down configuration after deployment.
