HDD-blindplaatkit HP Enterprise Gen8 666986-B21-RFB voor server-drivebays

HDD blank kit HP Enterprise Gen8 666986-B21-RFB for server drive bays provides a set of blank drive bay covers specifically designed for HP ProLiant Gen8 servers. These blank panels fill empty or missing drive slots to preserve proper airflow through the server chassis, reduce dust ingress and protect internal components during maintenance, repairs or upgrades. The covers match the form factor of Gen8 drive bays and allow the server to retain its intended cooling characteristics when drives are removed or bays are unused.

Advantages

The kit helps maintain consistent front-to-back airflow and cooling efficiency by closing open drive bays. It reduces the risk of dust accumulation and potential contamination of internal components. The blank covers are compatible with Gen8 drive bay geometry and provide a secure fit without requiring additional tools. Using the correct blanking panels maintains system integrity and can simplify server servicing by keeping bays clearly covered.

Suitable for

• HP ProLiant Gen8 rack servers with removable drive trays
• Server maintenance, repairs and component replacement tasks
• Data center environments where controlled airflow and dust reduction are required
• Temporary or permanent closure of unused drive bays during upgrades

Key specifications

• Form factor: blank drive bay cover compatible with HP ProLiant Gen8 drive bay dimensions
• Material: durable plastic designed for server chassis use
• Mounting: snap-in or tool-less installation compatible with Gen8 bay latch mechanisms
• Finish: server-grade color and texture matching Gen8 front bezels
• Function: maintains airflow, prevents dust ingress and protects internal components

How to use

Align the blank cover with the empty drive bay opening and press it into place until the bay latch engages. Verify that the cover is seated flush with adjacent drive bezels and that it does not obstruct adjacent drive trays. For removal, release the bay latch and pull the cover out. Use the kit during server service windows or prior to powering up the system after component changes to ensure proper airflow and dust protection.

Recommendations

Install blank covers in all unused drive bays to maintain designed airflow paths, especially in densely populated rack environments. Inspect covers periodically for secure fit and damage, and replace any panels that show cracks or deformation to preserve cooling performance and dust protection.
