InfiniBand / glasvezel-AOC-kabel BlueOptics AOC-S-S-25G-25M-BO — SFP28 naar SFP28, 25 m, blauw

Active optical cable BlueOptics AOC-S-S-25G-25M-BO is a 25 m SFP28-to-SFP28 link designed for InfiniBand and 25G fibre-optic connections. The cable features SFP28 male terminations on both ends and a blue outer jacket, providing direct, low-latency connectivity between servers, switches and storage devices over a 25 Gbit/s link. This AOC eliminates the need for separate transceivers and patch cords, offering a compact and lightweight solution for high-density network environments.

Advantages

This BlueOptics active optical cable delivers a full 25 Gbit/s transmission rate with optical signal integrity appropriate for short to medium data centre links. The integrated SFP28 modules are factory matched, reducing insertion loss and compatibility issues that can occur with separate transceivers. The single-cable solution reduces rack clutter and weight compared with copper or multimode assemblies and is well suited for high-port-count switch panels where space and airflow are important.

How to use

Insert the SFP28 connectors into compatible SFP28 ports on networking equipment while the devices are powered down or following the vendor's hot-plug guidance. Ensure port settings and firmware support 25G operation and that link partners accept AOC-attached modules. Route the cable to avoid sharp bends; maintain the manufacturer’s minimum bend radius to preserve optical performance. No additional transceivers or patch cords are required—connect the two SFP28 ports directly using the AOC.

Recommendations

Verify compatibility with your switch and server vendors for SFP28 AOC modules and confirm that the selected ports support 25G/InfiniBand operation. Avoid tight bends and exposure to mechanical stress; store and handle the cable by the connector housings to prevent strain on the optical assembly.
