Infraroodsensor STEINEL ST 602819 bedraad wit IP54 12m bereik

The STEINEL ST 602819 is a wired infrared wall sensor in white finish designed for reliable outdoor motion detection. With IP54 protection and a maximum detection range of up to 12 m, the unit features intelligent dual infrared detectors and a 240° coverage angle that allow monitoring of large façades and external corners. The compact housing (60 x 100 x 90 mm) includes a clearly arranged terminal compartment and a corner wall mount for quick installation. Time and twilight threshold adjustments are accessible via a control dial; supplied shrouds can limit the detection zone as required.

Advantages

The sensor automatically switches lights on and off according to movement and ambient light levels, helping to save energy and increase safety. Two infrared detectors positioned at a set angle provide reliable coverage of areas up to 230 m², reducing the need for multiple devices when mounted on corners. The IP54 rating protects against dust and splashing water for outdoor use, while the organised terminal compartment and included corner mount simplify wiring and installation. Adjustable time and twilight settings allow adaptation to different site requirements.

Suitable for

• Monitoring building fronts and large outdoor façades
• Surveillance of external corners to cover wide areas with one sensor
• Controlling outdoor lighting for entries, pathways and loading zones
• Applications requiring IP54-rated motion detection

Key specifications

• Brand: Steinel
• Model / MPN: 602819
• Protection class: IP54
• Detection angle: 240°
• Maximum detection range: 12 m
• Coverage area (max): up to 230 m² (dependent on installation)
• Light sensitivity: 2000 lx (adjustable twilight threshold)
• Supply: 230–240 V, 50 Hz (wired)

How to use

Mount the sensor to a wall or external corner using the supplied corner mount. Conceal or surface-mount the supply lead according to site conditions and connect wiring in the clearly arranged terminal compartment. Use the provided shrouds to limit the detection zone where required. Adjust the time-off and twilight threshold controls to match the desired lighting behaviour and local ambient light conditions.

Recommendations

The sensor should be installed at the manufacturer’s recommended height and orientation to achieve the stated 12 m range and optimal 240° coverage; avoid mounting near heat sources or behind obstructions that could reduce detection performance.
