Interne M.2 SSD ADATA LEGEND 900 1 TB PCIe 4.0 NVMe (2280) 7000/5400 MB/s, 3D NAND, TBW 1200

LEGEND 900 is an NVMe SSD that uses a PCIe Gen4 x4 interface compatible with NVMe 1.4 and supports modern Intel and AMD platforms. It delivers high sequential read/write performance and is backward compatible with PCIe 3.0, making it suitable for creators, gamers, and users who need fast storage expansion, including installation as an M.2 SSD in the PS5 expansion slot.

Advantages

The LEGEND 900 provides very high sequential speeds up to 7,000 MB/s read and 5,400 MB/s write on PCIe 4.0 platforms while remaining compatible with PCIe 3.0 systems. It supports PS5 expansion installation (measured sequential read speed of 6,200 MB/s when used in PS5), uses SLC caching and HMB technology for sustained performance, and implements LDPC error correction for reliable data integrity. SSD Toolbox software offers firmware updates and S.M.A.R.T. monitoring for drive health, temperature and remaining lifespan tracking.

Key specifications

• Interface: PCIe Gen4 x4, NVMe 1.4
• Sequential read speed: up to 7,000 MB/s (PCIe 4.0)
• Sequential write speed: up to 5,400 MB/s (PCIe 4.0)
• PS5 measured sequential read speed: 6,200 MB/s (when operating in PS5)
• Compatibility: Backward compatible with PCIe 3.0; supports current Intel and AMD platforms
• Performance features: SLC cache algorithm, Host Memory Buffer (HMB)
• Reliability: LDPC error correction
• Software: SSD Toolbox with firmware update and S.M.A.R.T. monitoring

How to use

Install the LEGEND 900 as an M.2 NVMe drive into a compatible motherboard M.2 slot that supports PCIe Gen4 x4 or PCIe 3.0. For PS5, place the M.2 SSD into the PS5 expansion bay following Sony’s installation instructions and ensure the drive meets the console’s physical and thermal requirements. Install the SSD Toolbox on your system to update firmware, check S.M.A.R.T. status and monitor temperature and remaining lifespan. For optimal sustained performance, enable HMB if supported by the system and allow the drive’s SLC cache to operate normally during heavy write workloads.

Recommendations

Use the LEGEND 900 in systems that support PCIe Gen4 to obtain maximum speeds; when installing in PS5, confirm the measured read speed and Sony’s compatibility guidance for specific games. Regularly update firmware via SSD Toolbox and monitor S.M.A.R.T. data to maintain drive health and performance.
