Interne SATA-adapter DELOCK 64241 M.2 (Key B+M) naar 5x SATA met JMicron JMB585, LED-indicatoren, voor pc

The DELOCK internal SATA adapter converts an M.2 (Key B+M) host interface into five SATA ports using the JMicron JMB585 controller. It is intended for installation in desktop PCs to expand storage options, offering LED indicators for power and drive access and compatibility with standard SATA devices such as SSDs, hard drives and optical drives. The card supports common operating systems and provides a compact way to add multiple SATA connections from a single M.2 slot.

Advantages

This adapter provides five additional internal SATA outputs from a single M.2 Key B+M slot, enabling connection of multiple drives without requiring an extra PCIe card or controller. The built-in JMicron JMB585 controller supports SATA device features like S.M.A.R.T. and TRIM where supported by the drive and OS. Integrated LEDs indicate power and activity for easier troubleshooting and monitoring during installation and operation.

Suitable for

• Expanding internal storage in desktop PCs
• Connecting multiple SATA SSDs and HDDs to a single M.2 slot
• Adding optical drives or legacy SATA devices when drive bays are available

When it may not be suitable

This adapter requires an M.2 slot keyed B+M supporting a host connection for SATA conversion; it will not function in systems without the appropriate M.2 interface or in many laptops that lack internal space or mounting for a full adapter. Performance depends on the capabilities of the M.2 host interface and the connected drives, so it may not deliver the same throughput as native SATA ports or dedicated RAID/HBA controllers in all scenarios.

Key specifications

• Host interface: M.2 Key B+M (internal)
• Output interfaces: 5 × SATA (internal)
• Controller chipset: JMicron JMB585
• Supported drive types: SATA SSDs, SATA HDDs, SATA optical drives
• LED indicators: power and drive access
• Supported operating systems: Windows 10/11, Linux with kernel 6.5 or later
• Color: black

How to use

Install the adapter into an available M.2 slot keyed B+M on the motherboard and secure it according to the board manufacturer’s instructions. Connect SATA data cables from the adapter’s five SATA ports to the drives, and connect power to each drive from the system power supply. After connecting drives, boot the system and verify that the operating system detects the new devices; install any required drivers if the OS does not automatically recognize the controller.

What to consider before purchase

• Confirm your motherboard has an M.2 slot with Key B+M that supports the required host connection for SATA expansion.
• Ensure your PC case has space and available SATA power connectors for the number of drives you plan to attach.
• Check the operating system compatibility and driver availability for your platform.
• Evaluate performance needs versus native SATA ports or dedicated controllers for heavy workloads.

Recommendations

For reliable operation, use quality SATA cables and ensure adequate cooling and power for multiple drives. Verify driver installation on first boot and monitor drive health via S.M.A.R.T. tools provided by the operating system or third-party utilities.
