IP-camera Hikvision DS-2CD2046G3-IZ2UY (4 MP, varifocaal 2,8–4 mm, gemotoriseerde zoom)

The Hikvision DS-2CD2046G3-IZ2UY is a 4 MP network camera with a motorized varifocal lens (2.8–4 mm) that enables adjustable framing for indoor and outdoor surveillance. It captures high-resolution video suitable for detailed monitoring, supports remote viewing over IP networks, and offers day/night imaging to maintain visibility in varying light conditions. The camera uses efficient video compression to reduce storage and bandwidth requirements while preserving important scene detail.

Advantages

This model provides flexible field-of-view control via a motorized zoom, allowing installers and users to fine-tune framing without manual lens adjustment. The 4 MP sensor delivers clear image detail suitable for identifying faces and objects at typical surveillance distances. Built-in day/night capability extends operation across lighting conditions, and network connectivity enables remote access, live monitoring, and integration with common VMS and NVR systems. Efficient compression lowers storage needs while maintaining useful image quality.

Suitable for

• Retail stores and shop floor monitoring
• Office and reception area surveillance
• Residential exterior and entryway monitoring
• Parking lots and perimeter observation at modest distances

Key specifications

• Image resolution: 4 megapixels (up to 4 MP)
• Lens type: varifocal motorized lens with 2.8–4 mm focal length
• Zoom: motorized zoom for on-demand framing adjustment
• Day/Night: support for low-light and night imaging modes
• Network: IP connectivity for remote viewing and recording
• Compression: efficient video compression for reduced storage and bandwidth
• Mounting: suitable for indoor and outdoor installation when used with appropriate housing

How to use

Install the camera at a location that provides an unobstructed view of the monitoring area and mount it securely according to the chosen bracket or housing instructions. Connect the device to a PoE-enabled network switch or to a power source and network endpoint as required. Use the camera’s web interface or a compatible network video recorder/software to perform initial configuration: set IP parameters, select resolution and compression settings, and adjust motion detection or privacy zones if needed. Use the motorized zoom to remotely adjust the field of view until the desired coverage and detail are achieved.

Recommendations

For best results, position the camera to avoid direct sunlight or strong backlighting and combine it with complementary lighting for night scenes if higher detail is required. Configure resolution and compression settings to balance image quality and storage capacity, and ensure firmware is kept up to date for performance and security improvements.
