Kabel gender changer RCA ShiverPeaks BS57040-MGS

The ShiverPeaks BS57040-MGS Cable Gender Changer RCA is a compact adapter designed to join two RCA cables quickly and reliably. It uses RCA-to-RCA connections with gold-coloured, gold-plated contact surfaces to improve electrical conductivity and resist corrosion. The adapter is intended for audio and video signal routing where a direct continuation of an RCA line is required, offering a simple inline solution without changing cable routing or equipment inputs.

Advantages

The gender changer provides a low-profile and space-saving connection that preserves signal integrity through gold-plated contacts. Its metal housing and precise connector dimensions ensure stable mechanical contact and reduced risk of intermittent connections. The small, lightweight design makes it easy to position behind equipment or inside AV cabinets while maintaining compatibility with standard RCA cable plugs.

Suitable for

• Extending or joining RCA audio cables in home stereo systems
• Linking RCA video leads between consumer electronics devices
• Temporary or permanent inline repairs where an RCA cable end needs to be replicated
• Connecting legacy AV equipment with RCA connectors

Key specifications

• Connector type: RCA to RCA
• Contact finish: gold-plated contacts for improved conductivity and corrosion resistance
• Colour: gold-coloured finish
• Form factor: compact, inline adapter suitable for tight spaces
• Compatibility: designed for standard unbalanced RCA cables carrying analogue audio or composite video signals

How to use

Align the male RCA plug of one cable with one side of the adapter and push in until it seats securely. Repeat with the second cable on the opposite side to form a continuous connection. Ensure plugs are fully inserted to maintain good electrical contact and prevent hum or signal drop. Position the adapter where it will not be subject to repeated strain; if used in a fixed installation consider securing adjacent cables to reduce movement at the connection point.

Recommendations

For best results, use with standard-quality RCA cables and avoid excessive bending or pulling at the junction. Clean contacts periodically in dusty or humid environments to maintain reliable signal transmission. If using in a frequently changed setup, check the mechanical fit regularly to ensure secure connections.
