Lindy HDMI 4K60 audio-extractor

The Lindy HDMI 18G Audio Extractor extracts digital and analogue audio from an HDMI source while passing video to a 4K UHD display or projector. It supports HDMI 2.0 18G bandwidth and 4K UHD 4096x2160@60Hz with REC.2020 colour space and HDCP 2.2 compatibility, enabling connection of set-top boxes, game consoles and media players to external audio systems or 2-channel speakers.

Advantages

This audio extractor provides simultaneous audio extraction and video pass-through without degrading video quality, supports multi-channel audio including Dolby Digital 5.1 via optical output and analogue stereo via RCA, and allows HDMI High Bit Rate audio passthrough for uncompressed high-resolution audio. RCA outputs enable connection to non-HDMI or 2-channel speaker setups. Two included mounting brackets allow secure and tidy installation.

Key specifications

• HDMI version: HDMI 2.0, 18G bandwidth
• Maximum video: 4K UHD 4096x2160 @ 60Hz

How to use

Connect the HDMI source device to the extractor's HDMI input, and connect the HDMI output to a 4K display or projector. Choose the required audio output: connect an optical cable to the extractor's optical port for multi-channel digital audio (e.g., Dolby Digital 5.1), or connect RCA cables to the analogue outputs for stereo speakers. Power and any additional setup follow the extractor and AV device instructions; the device will pass video to the display while sending audio to the selected output.

Recommendations

For best results, use HDMI cables rated for 18G bandwidth and ensure source and display support 4K@60Hz and HDCP 2.2. When using multi-channel audio, connect compatible AV receivers or soundbars that accept optical input; for stereo setups, verify speaker impedance and cable quality to maintain audio fidelity.
