Netwerkkabel EFB Elektronik EC020200283 RJ-45 Cat8.1 5 m oranje

The EFB Elektronik EC020200283 RJ-45 Cat8.1 networking cable is a 5 m orange S/FTP cable designed for high-performance wired networks. It supports Category 8.1 specifications and is engineered to deliver very high data transfer rates up to 40000 Mbit/s. The cable is fitted with gold-plated RJ-45 connectors to ensure reliable contact and reduced corrosion over time. Its S/FTP shielding structure improves protection against electromagnetic interference and crosstalk, making it suitable for dense or demanding cabling environments.

Advantages

This Cat8.1 cable provides a combination of high bandwidth and robust shielding that helps maintain signal integrity at high speeds. The gold-plated RJ-45 connectors promote stable connections and long-term durability. The 5 m length offers flexibility for rack-to-desk runs or connections between nearby network devices, while the bright orange jacket improves cable identification and organization in patch panels or wiring closets.

Suitable for

• High-speed local area networks (LAN) requiring Cat8.1 performance
• Server-to-switch or switch-to-switch connections in data centres and server rooms
• Workstation or desktop connections where short, high-bandwidth links are needed
• Environments with potential electromagnetic interference where S/FTP shielding is beneficial

Key specifications

• Cable category: Cat8.1
• Shielding: S/FTP (overall shield with individually shielded pairs)
• Maximum data rate: up to 40000 Mbit/s
• Connector type: RJ-45 to RJ-45, gold-plated contacts
• Length: 5 m
• Colour: Orange

How to use

Connect one RJ-45 end to a network device such as a switch, router or network interface card and the other RJ-45 end to the corresponding port on the remote device. Ensure both devices support the intended network speeds and that ports are rated for Cat8 or backward-compatible categories. Route the cable to avoid sharp bends and excessive tension to preserve shielding and conductor integrity. For installations in racks or conduits, secure the cable with appropriate ties or management accessories without compressing the jacket.

Recommendations

For optimal performance, use the cable for short, high-bandwidth links and avoid running it parallel to power lines. Verify device compatibility for Cat8.1 data rates and confirm connector port ratings. Periodically inspect the gold-plated contacts and cable jacket for wear or damage, and replace the cable if physical defects are found.
