Managed L2/L3 Gigabit Ethernet-switch Cisco Catalyst C9300L-24T-4X-E

The Cisco Catalyst C9300L-24T-4X-E is a managed L2/L3 Gigabit Ethernet switch designed for enterprise deployments. It provides 24 Gigabit RJ-45 ports, support for full-duplex operation, and an address table capacity of 32,000 MAC entries. Built on the Catalyst 9300 Series platform, this switch is suitable for stackable access-layer deployments and supports Cisco StackWise and StackPower technologies as well as the Cisco IOS XE operating system for programmability and advanced security features.

Advantages

The C9300L-24T-4X-E combines high-density Gigabit Ethernet access ports with a modular uplink design and an x86-based architecture that enables greater memory and programmability. It supports industry-standard IEEE networking protocols for interoperability and provides resilient stacking and power architectures—StackWise for sub-50 ms failover and StackPower for high-density PoE/UPoE power sharing. These characteristics make it a durable choice for enterprise access networks that require scalability, reliability, and support for IoT and wireless convergence.

Suitable for

• Access-layer switching in enterprise LANs
• Racked network closets and wiring cabinets
• Environments requiring PoE/UPoE to power endpoints (with appropriate power modules)
• Deployments using Cisco StackWise stacking for high availability

How to use

Mount the switch in a standard 19-inch rack or place it on a stable surface following the installation guide. Connect hosts to the 24 Gigabit RJ-45 ports and install SFP+ modules in the 10 G uplink slots as required. Use the console or web/SSH management interfaces to perform initial configuration, enable L2/L3 features, configure VLANs, QoS, security policies and stacking (StackWise) if multiple units are used. Ensure IOS XE firmware is up to date to enable programmability and advanced features.

Recommendations

For reliable PoE/UPoE delivery and optimal stacking performance, verify compatible power supplies and stack cables are used, keep IOS XE up to date, and follow Cisco’s guidelines for thermal clearance and grounding in rack installations.
