Mediaconverter Veracity HIGHWIRE Powerstar VHW-HWPS-C

The Veracity HIGHWIRE Powerstar VHW-HWPS-C is a wired media converter designed to deliver full-rate Ethernet and Power over Coax (PoC) up to 500 m, enabling installation of IP cameras without running new Ethernet cable. The unit supports 100Base-T input at 100 Mbit/s and complies with IEEE 802.3af and IEEE 802.3at standards, providing up to 25 W PoE to the camera while drawing low device power.

Advantages

The HIGHWIRE Powerstar uses Veracity's full-rate Ethernet over Coax technology to maintain reliable network connectivity over existing coaxial cabling, reducing installation time and cost. The integrated SafeView display gives an immediate, easy-to-read indication of network and power status across the cable so you can verify connections without accessing remote equipment. The device is compact and low-weight, with regulatory certifications (FCC, CE, RoHS) for dependable deployment.

Suitable for

• Upgrading analog CCTV coax cabling to IP cameras
• Remote camera installations where running new Ethernet cable is impractical
• Long-range PoE delivery to cameras up to 500 m

Mount the unit near the camera or at the head-end as required, then verify operation using the SafeView display to confirm both network link and power status. Ensure the connected camera supports PoE and is within the supported power budget (up to 25 W).

Recommendations

For reliable performance, use good-quality coaxial cable in sound condition and keep cable runs within the specified maximum distance of 500 m. Verify camera PoE requirements before deployment and observe local regulations for power and mounting. Use the SafeView indicator to troubleshoot link or power faults before inspecting remote equipment.
