Microfoon Behringer BM1-U USB-condensatormicrofoon

The Behringer BM1-U USB Condenser Microphone is a plug-and-play studio microphone designed for clear vocal and instrument capture on computers. It combines a condenser capsule with USB connectivity to provide a wide frequency response and low self-noise, suitable for podcasting, streaming, voice-over work and home recording. The microphone's cardioid pickup pattern helps isolate the sound source while minimizing background noise, and its solid construction supports regular use in a desktop or home-studio environment.

Advantages

The BM1-U offers straightforward USB connectivity for immediate use without additional audio interfaces, delivering consistent condenser microphone sound quality with minimal setup. Its cardioid polar pattern reduces off-axis pickup for cleaner recordings, and the microphone's low self-noise preserves detail in vocal and instrumental takes. The robust build and included mounting accessories provide stable positioning and improved handling during sessions.

How to use

Connect the BM1-U to a computer USB port and allow the operating system to install any required drivers automatically. Position the microphone vertically on a stand or desktop mount with the grille facing the sound source, and maintain a distance of approximately 10–20 cm for typical vocal recording; adjust distance and angle to achieve the desired tonal balance. Select the BM1-U as the input device in your recording software or system audio settings, set input gain to avoid clipping, and monitor levels before recording. For instrument capture, position the microphone closer or off-axis as needed to manage brightness and room sound.

Recommendations

Use a pop filter or windscreen for vocal recordings to reduce plosives, and employ basic acoustic treatment or strategic microphone placement to minimize room reflections. Regularly check input levels in your DAW or recording software to maintain headroom and avoid distortion.
