Microfoon Donner DC20

The Donner DC20 is a condenser microphone engineered for studio recording and live performance environments. It delivers a wide frequency response and low self-noise combined with a cardioid pickup pattern that helps isolate the intended sound source while minimizing background noise. Built with a robust metal body and supplied accessories, the DC20 suits vocal and instrument capture in controlled rooms, rehearsal spaces, streaming setups, and simple live applications.

Advantages

The DC20 offers consistent directional sensitivity thanks to its cardioid polar pattern, reducing off-axis sound and room reflections. Its condenser capsule provides extended high-frequency clarity and accurate transient response appropriate for vocal detail and acoustic instruments. Low inherent noise ensures cleaner signal capture, and the microphone’s solid construction supports reliable everyday use. Included accessories simplify setup and mounting in common recording and broadcasting scenarios.

Suitable for

• Studio vocal and instrument recording
• Podcasting and voiceover work
• Home and project studio setups
• Live streaming and content creation
• Small live performances and rehearsal recording

Key specifications

• Transducer type: Condenser capsule
• Polar pattern: Cardioid
• Frequency response: Wide-range response for vocal and instrumental clarity
• Self-noise: Low inherent noise suitable for clean recordings
• Construction: Metal body designed for durability
• Connectivity: Balanced output suitable for standard mic preamps and interfaces

How to use

Connect the Donner DC20 to a compatible microphone preamp or audio interface using a balanced cable. Place the microphone with its capsule directed toward the sound source and maintain an appropriate distance for the application: closer for more presence and clarity in vocals, slightly further for natural instrument tone. Use pop filters or windshields to reduce plosives with close vocal work and employ basic acoustic treatment or positioning to minimize room reflections. Adjust preamp gain to achieve a clean signal without clipping.

Recommendations

For studio vocals and voiceover, position the DC20 about 10–20 cm from the mouth with a pop filter; for acoustic guitar, angle the microphone toward the 12th fret at 20–40 cm distance to capture a balanced tone. When using for streaming or podcasting, monitor levels and apply light compression or equalization as needed to improve clarity while maintaining natural sound.
