Montageverlenging Artyk HEQ5 montageverlenging SW-4208 voor telescoopmonteringen

Artyk HEQ5 Mounting Extension (model SW-4208) is an accessory designed to extend and adapt HEQ5-compatible telescope mounts. It provides increased spacing and a secure mechanical interface between the mount head and optical tube assemblies, counterweights or other accessories, allowing improved clearance and balance for a variety of observational and imaging setups. The extension is intended for users who need additional mounting height or an offset to accommodate larger optical tubes, guide scopes or specialized equipment without altering the mount’s core mechanics.

Advantages

The mounting extension offers a robust and precise connection that maintains alignment and reduces the risk of contact between the optical tube and tripod or mount components. By adding controlled spacing, it enables easier balancing of the payload and more flexible placement of counterweights. The design supports repeatable installation and removal, helping to preserve polar alignment and minimizing setup time for field observations or imaging sessions. Materials and machining provide stable mechanical performance under typical amateur and semi-professional usage.

How to use

Install the extension between the mount head and the optical tube assembly or accessory according to the clamping method on your HEQ5-style mount. Ensure all mating surfaces are clean and align the extension so the dovetail or clamping surfaces seat fully before tightening. Balance the optical tube and any accessories after installation by adjusting the position of the tube and counterweights; verify smooth motion in both axes and secure all fasteners to the manufacturer’s recommended torque where available. Re-check polar alignment and drive tracking after adding the extension, as the extended payload distribution can affect balance and tracking performance.

Recommendations

Use the extension on stable tripods and confirm that the combined payload stays within the mount’s rated capacity. When using for astrophotography, perform a balance and guiding calibration after installation and limit slews and rapid motion until the system behavior is verified. Store the extension in a dry, protected place and inspect clamping faces periodically for wear.
