NETGEAR GS605-400PES netwerkswitch unmanaged L2 Gigabit Ethernet (10/100/1000) wit

The NETGEAR SOHO Ethernet Unmanaged Switches deliver simple, cost-effective network connectivity for homes and small offices. These plug-and-play switches expand wired connections to multiple devices instantly and operate reliably without configuration. The product line includes Fast Ethernet and Gigabit Ethernet models offered in either plastic or metal housings, and incorporates energy-saving features to reduce power consumption.

Advantages

Unmanaged, plug-and-play operation makes these switches easy to install and maintain. Energy-efficient technologies lower power usage and operating costs. The fan-less design ensures quiet operation while auto-MDI/MDIX and auto-negotiation simplify cabling and speed setup. A non-blocking switching architecture provides maximum throughput at wire speed for connected devices.

Key specifications

• Connectivity: Fast Ethernet and Gigabit Ethernet options
• Enclosure: Plastic or metal models available
• Power-saving features: Energy-efficient technology implemented
• Auto-MDI/MDIX: Removes need for crossover cables
• Switching architecture: Non-blocking for maximum throughput at wire speed
• Auto-negotiation: Automatic connection at highest common speed
• Design: Fan-less for quiet operation

How to use

Place the switch on a stable surface or mount it according to the enclosure type. Connect the switch to your router or modem using a standard Ethernet cable, then connect devices (PCs, printers, NAS, IP cameras) to the switch ports. Power on the switch; it operates as plug-and-play with no additional configuration required. For optimal performance, use appropriate Cat5e/Cat6 cables for Gigabit models and ensure proper ventilation around metal-enclosed units.

Recommendations

Choose the Gigabit Ethernet models when higher data transfer rates are required, and select metal enclosures for environments needing additional durability. Use Cat6 cables for best performance with Gigabit switches and place the switch in a ventilated area to maintain passive cooling.
