NETGEAR PLW1000 1000 Mbit/s Ethernet LAN Wi-Fi wit

The NETGEAR PLW1000 Ethernet LAN Wi‑Fi adapter uses your home's electrical wiring to extend wired and wireless Internet access at speeds up to 1000 Mbps. The kit includes a Powerline adapter that connects to your modem or router and a Powerline Wi‑Fi access point that you plug into any electrical outlet to create additional wired Ethernet and Wi‑Fi coverage. Supporting HomePlug AV2 and common IEEE networking standards, the PLW1000 is suitable for connecting smart TVs, streaming players, game consoles and mobile devices without running new network cables.

Advantages

Provides up to 1000 Mbps throughput over existing electrical wiring with HomePlug AV2 support. Easy plug‑and‑play installation requires no software configuration and supports multiple adapters for expanded wired coverage. The device includes energy‑saving automatic power‑down and a push‑button security feature to encrypt Powerline connections. Compact white design with built‑in power socket and Gigabit Ethernet port allows flexible placement while maintaining an outlet.

How to use

Plug the NETGEAR Powerline adapter into an electrical outlet near your modem or router and connect it to the router using an Ethernet cable. Plug the companion Powerline Wi‑Fi access point into an outlet in the room where you need coverage. If you require a wired device, connect it to the access point's Gigabit Ethernet port. Press the push‑and‑secure button on each unit to encrypt the Powerline network. The system is plug‑and‑play and requires no additional software for basic operation.

Recommendations

For best performance, plug adapters directly into wall sockets rather than power strips or surge protectors, and avoid outlets on different electrical phases or separate meter connections. Place the Wi‑Fi access point in a central location for optimal wireless coverage and add additional Powerline adapters if you need more wired ports or Wi‑Fi zones.
