Netwerk-patchkabel DIGITUS Digitus CAT 5e U/UTP-patchkabel, 5 m, U/UTP, RJ-45 – blauw

The DIGITUS CAT 5e U/UTP patch cord, 5 m, is an unshielded twisted-pair Ethernet cable with RJ-45 connectors on both ends. It is designed to meet Category 5e (Class D) performance up to 100 MHz and is suitable for connecting routers, switches, patch panels and workstations in home and office networks. The cable features a transparent blue plug for easy visual identification and a molded boot with kink protection, strain relief and latch protection to reduce connector damage during installation and operation.

Advantages

This patch cord is manufactured and tested to ISO/IEC 11801 and DIN EN 50173 Category 5e specifications, ensuring channel compliance and consistent performance characteristics such as near-end cross talk (NEXT) up to 100 MHz. The molded boot provides mechanical protection and strain relief while the transparent blue connector simplifies cable management and identification in structured cabling installations. The unshielded design (U/UTP) makes the cable flexible and suitable for typical office and residential environments.

Suitable for

• Connecting network devices such as routers, switches and hubs
• Patching between patch panels and wall outlets in structured cabling
• Workstation and office network connections
• Home network installations where Cat5e performance is sufficient

Key specifications

• Cable category: Cat 5e (Class D)
• Topology: Unshielded twisted pair (U/UTP)
• Length: 5 m
• Connectors: RJ-45 on both ends
• Performance: Rated up to 100 MHz (includes NEXT characteristics)
• Connector colour: Transparent blue
• Features: Molded boot with kink protection, strain relief and latch protection

How to use

Plug one RJ-45 connector into the Ethernet port of your network device and the other into the corresponding port on your switch, router or patch panel. Ensure the molded boot and latch click securely into place to maintain a reliable connection. Route the cable to avoid sharp bends and excessive tension; the molded boot provides some protection but avoiding tight bends and pinch points will extend service life. For clean installations, use cable management elements such as clips or cable ties while leaving some slack for movement.

Recommendations

Use this Cat5e U/UTP patch cord for standard Ethernet applications where Cat5e performance (up to 100 MHz) is adequate. Avoid running the cable parallel and close to high-voltage power lines or strong electromagnetic sources to minimise interference. For environments requiring additional shielding or higher bandwidth, consider shielded cables or higher category classes.
