Netwerk-videorecorder Hikvision DS-7732NI-I4/16P(B)

The Hikvision DS-7732NI-I4/16P(B) Network Video Recorder is a rack-mountable 1.5U NVR designed for small to medium-sized business video surveillance systems. It supports up to 32 network camera channels with a maximum single-channel resolution of 3840 x 2160 pixels and simultaneous playback of up to 16 channels. The unit accepts SATA hard drives with up to 10 TB storage capacity, features a black and silver metal enclosure, and provides efficient continuous operation with typical power consumption around 20 W. The recorder supports mainstream networking protocols and Hikvision Pro Series optimizations including H.265+ and H.264+ codecs for effective bandwidth and storage usage.

Advantages

The DS-7732NI-I4/16P(B) offers high channel density in a 1.5U form factor while keeping power consumption low, making it suitable for installations where rack space and energy efficiency matter. Integrated support for H.265+ and H.264+ compression reduces network bandwidth and storage requirements compared with legacy codecs. Multiple USB ports and a standard RJ-45 LAN interface simplify local backup and integration with network infrastructure. The metal chassis in black and silver ensures durability and a professional appearance in control rooms or equipment racks.

Suitable for

• Medium-sized business surveillance installations
• Retail stores, offices and branch locations requiring multi-camera recording
• Networked surveillance projects where rack mounting is preferred
• Environments that need efficient storage management and long-term recording

How to use

Install the NVR into a suitable rack space (1.5U) and connect network cameras to the same LAN or through a PoE switch if applicable. Fit a SATA HDD of the supported capacity and format it via the device’s storage configuration menu. Configure IP addresses, recording schedules and motion detection or event rules using the on-screen menu or Hikvision management software. Use the USB ports for local export of footage or for connecting a mouse; use the RJ-45 port for network access, remote viewing, and management. Regularly verify recording status and perform firmware updates through the official Hikvision tools to maintain stability and security.

Recommendations

For optimal long-term performance, use enterprise-class SATA drives rated for surveillance workloads, configure recording retention according to storage capacity and expected camera bitrate, and enable H.265+ compression when compatible cameras are available to reduce bandwidth and storage use. Place the NVR in a ventilated rack space and ensure network segmentation or firewall rules to limit unauthorized access.
