Netwerkkabel DIGITUS DK-1624-VH-5 F/UTP Cat.6 500 m violet

The DIGITUS DK-1624-VH-5 F/UTP Cat.6 network cable in purple is a 500 m solid cable designed for structured cabling and horizontal distribution. Constructed with AWG 23/1 conductors and a foil-shielded pairs (F/UTP) layout, this cable supports high-speed Ethernet and data transmission while limiting external interference. The low-smoke, zero-halogen (LSOH) jacket reduces toxic emissions in case of fire and the Dca flame-retardant rating aligns with modern building safety requirements. The purple color provides an easy way to identify circuits or designate special-purpose runs within racks and cable trays.

Advantages

This Cat.6 F/UTP cable provides consistent signal quality for gigabit and multi-gigabit applications due to its solid AWG 23/1 conductors and pair foil shielding. The LSOH outer jacket minimizes smoke and halogen release, improving safety in confined spaces. The 500 m reel length is suited for medium to large installations, reducing the need for multiple joins. The distinct purple jacket assists with visual identification and organized cable management without compromising performance.

Suitable for

• Structured cabling in office and commercial environments
• Horizontal runs between patch panels and wall outlets
• High-speed Ethernet networks (Gigabit and beyond)
• Environments requiring low-smoke, zero-halogen cabling

Key specifications

• Category: Cat.6 (F/UTP)
• Length: 500 m
• Conductor: solid, AWG 23/1
• Sheath: LSOH (low-smoke, zero-halogen)
• Shielding: foil around twisted pairs (F/UTP)
• Flame rating: Dca (building fire classification)
• Color: purple

How to use

Measure and cut the required length from the 500 m reel, taking care to maintain twisting of the pairs when terminating. Strip the outer LSOH jacket carefully to avoid damaging the foil shield and core insulation. Install in compliance with structured cabling standards, terminate on compatible Cat.6 keystone jacks or RJ45 connectors designed for solid conductors, and verify connections using a cable tester. Observe bend-radius limits and avoid placing the cable near strong electromagnetic sources to preserve performance.

Recommendations

For optimal results, route the cable in dedicated cable trays or conduits, label both ends for quick identification, and perform certification testing after installation to confirm Category 6 performance. When running long horizontal distances, plan for appropriate access points and avoid excessive splicing to maintain signal integrity.
