Netwerkkabel ROLINE 21.15.1862 Geel 2m Cat8.1 S/FTP

The ROLINE 21.15.1862 Yellow 2m Cat8.1 S/FTP networking cable provides high-speed twisted-pair connectivity in a 2 m length. Compliant with Category 8.1 standards, the cable uses S/FTP shielding and RJ-45 connectors on both ends to deliver improved signal integrity for short-distance 25GBASE-T and 40GBASE-T applications. The cable is halogen-free, flame-retardant (LSOH) and GHMT certified for quality and performance.

Advantages

This Cat8.1 S/FTP cable supports significantly higher data rates over the same cabling type compared with earlier categories, while the shielding minimizes crosstalk and external interference. The 2 m length and yellow jacket simplify installation and identification in patch panels and rack environments. LSOH construction reduces toxic gas emissions in case of fire, and GHMT certification confirms tested performance.

Suitable for

• Short-distance 25GBASE-T and 40GBASE-T connections
• High-speed server-to-switch and switch-to-switch links
• Data centres, server rooms and structured cabling backbones
• Patch panels and desktop network connections requiring clear cable identification

Key specifications

• Standard: Category 8.1 (Cat8.1)
• Shielding: S/FTP (overall braid + individually foiled pairs)
• Connectors: RJ-45 to RJ-45
• Length: 2 m
• Colour: Yellow
• Halogen-free, flame-retardant (LSOH)
• Certification: GHMT

How to use

Connect one RJ-45 end to the network device (switch, router or NIC) and the other end to the corresponding port. Ensure ports support the targeted short-distance 25GBASE-T or 40GBASE-T link speeds if those rates are required. Route the cable to avoid sharp bends and places with strong electromagnetic interference to maintain signal integrity. For structured cabling, use standard patch panel and cable management practices.

Recommendations

Use this Cat8.1 S/FTP cable for short link lengths where high-throughput performance is needed; verify device compatibility for 25G/40G over copper and avoid extended runs beyond the recommended short-distance applications for Cat8 cabling.
