Netwerkkabel ROLINE S/FTP Patchkabel Cat.7 RJ-45 5m grijs

The ROLINE S/FTP Patch Cord Cat.7 RJ-45 5m in grey is a shielded network patch cable for device-to-device connections, supporting high data transfer rates. It uses a prepared S/FTP (PiMF) twisted pair construction with RJ-45 connectors on both ends and is designed for Cat.7 performance with a bandwidth up to 600 MHz, enabling data rates up to 40 Gbit/s and backward compatibility with Cat.6a applications at up to 10 Gbit/s over its 500 MHz bandwidth equivalent.

Advantages

This patch cord features S/FTP shielding for improved protection against electromagnetic interference and pair-to-pair crosstalk. The cable is flexible and includes moulded kink protection on both connector ends for increased durability and reliable connector strain relief. The standard RJ-45 termination ensures compatibility with common networking equipment.

Suitable for

• High-speed Ethernet connections up to 40 Gbit/s (Cat.7 environments)
• 10 Gbit/s links in Cat.6a-compatible installations
• Patch panels, switches, routers and network interface connections
• Environments requiring shielded cabling to reduce interference

Key specifications

• Cable type: S/FTP (PiMF) shielded twisted pair
• Category: Cat.7 (600 MHz capability); compatible with Cat.6a (500 MHz)
• Maximum data rate: up to 40 Gbit/s
• Length: 5 m
• Connectors: RJ-45 to RJ-45
• Colour: Grey

How to use

Connect one RJ-45 connector to the network port of your device and the other to a compatible port on a switch, patch panel or router. Ensure connectors are fully inserted until they latch. Route the cable avoiding sharp bends and maintain gentle bend radii to preserve shielding and internal pair integrity. The moulded kink protection should be positioned near the connector to reduce strain during movement or cabinet changes.

Recommendations

For optimal performance, use this Cat.7 S/FTP patch cord in shielded network environments and pair it with shielded equipment or properly grounded patch panels. Avoid running the cable parallel to mains power lines to minimise potential interference. Verify that connected devices and infrastructure support the intended data rates.
