Netwerkkabel Sharkoon Cat.6a SFTP RJ-45 Cat6a 0,5 m geel

The Sharkoon Cat.6a SFTP RJ-45 Cat6a 0.5 m Yellow is a short patch cable engineered for reliable high-speed network connections. At 0.5 m length, it is suited for linking devices in close proximity—such as switches, patch panels, routers and network appliances—while S/FTP shielding reduces electromagnetic interference and crosstalk. Both ends feature standard RJ-45 connectors for straightforward plug-and-play installation, and the yellow jacket makes the cable easy to identify within structured cabling setups.

Advantages

The S/FTP construction combines an overall foil shield with individually shielded pairs to provide improved protection against external interference and pair-to-pair crosstalk, supporting stable data transmission at higher bandwidths. The Cat.6a specification allows for 10 Gigabit Ethernet performance over short distances, while the compact 0.5 m length minimizes excess cable clutter. Standard RJ-45 plugs ensure compatibility with common network equipment, and the colored outer jacket simplifies cable management in multi-cable environments.

Suitable for

• Connecting network devices within racks or on desks where short reach is required
• Patch panel to switch connections in data cabinets
• Links between network appliances and desktop units in offices and home setups
• Applications requiring shielded cabling to reduce EMI in electrically noisy environments

Key specifications

• Category: Cat.6a (augmented twisted pair)
• Shielding: S/FTP (overall foil with individually shielded pairs)
• Length: 0.5 m
• Connectors: RJ-45 to RJ-45
• Color: Yellow
• Intended use: Ethernet networking, up to 10 Gigabit over short runs

How to use

Insert an RJ-45 connector into the Ethernet port of the first device and the other end into the corresponding port of the second device until the latch clicks. Ensure both devices are powered on and configured for the desired network settings; the connection should be recognized automatically by most operating systems and network equipment. Route the cable so it is not subject to sharp bends or heavy compression to maintain shielding integrity and signal quality.

Recommendations

For optimal performance, avoid running the cable parallel to high-voltage power lines or large electrical equipment. Use the 0.5 m length for short connections inside racks or between nearby devices to reduce clutter. Inspect connectors for damage before use and replace the cable if the jacket or plugs show signs of wear that could compromise shielding or contact quality.
