Netwerkkabel ShiverPeaks 08-64020 CAT 6 S/FTP PIMF, soepel, 4-pairs, afgeschermd

ShiverPeaks 08-64020 is a CAT 6 S/FTP PIMF network cable designed for structured cabling and Ethernet installations. The cable contains four stranded twisted pairs with individual foil shielding around each pair and an overall braided shield, delivering CAT6-level performance with improved protection against crosstalk and electromagnetic interference. It is suitable for connecting patch panels, switches and network devices in offices, data closets and campus environments where reliable signal integrity is required.

Advantages

The combination of pair-wise foil (PIMF) and an overall braid shield reduces near-end crosstalk and provides higher immunity to external electromagnetic disturbances compared to unshielded solutions. Stranded conductors ensure flexibility for routing in patching scenarios and short cable runs, while the CAT 6 specification supports gigabit Ethernet and common structured cabling requirements. The shielded design also helps maintain consistent performance in environments with mixed cabling and nearby electrical equipment.

Suitable for

• Office LAN patching and horizontal cabling
• Connections between switches, patch panels and wall outlets
• Environments with elevated electromagnetic interference
• Data closets and wiring ducts requiring flexible cable routing

Key specifications

• Category: CAT 6 performance for Ethernet applications
• Shielding: S/FTP (overall braid shield plus foil around each pair)
• Conductor type: stranded conductors for flexibility
• Pairs: 4 twisted pairs (PIMF — pair in metal foil)
• Typical use: patching and short interconnect runs

How to use

Use this cable to connect network devices such as switches, routers, patch panels and wall outlets. Route the cable carefully through cable management channels, avoiding sharp bends and excessive tension. When terminating, ensure the shield continuity is maintained by correctly wiring the drain wire and connecting the cable shield to the shielded connector or panel grounding point. For best results, keep cable runs within recommended length limits for patch connections and avoid running parallel to high-voltage electrical lines.

Recommendations

For reliable shield performance, terminate both ends of the shield to grounded connectors or chassis. Use appropriate shielded RJ45 connectors and follow local installation standards for grounding and bend radius to preserve CAT 6 performance.
