Netwerkkabel ShiverPeaks 08-64021 CAT6 S/FTP PIMF, soepel, 4 paren

ShiverPeaks 08-64021 CAT6 S/FTP PIMF stranded network cable is designed for Ethernet installations requiring enhanced protection against electromagnetic interference and near-end crosstalk. The cable contains four twisted pairs, each pair individually foil-shielded in an S/FTP arrangement with paired-in-metal-foil (PIMF) construction, offering consistent pair integrity and reliable signal transmission for structured cabling in offices, server rooms and data closets.

Advantages

The S/FTP PIMF design provides improved EMI and RFI protection compared with unshielded cables, reducing external noise and interference. Individual foil shielding around each pair helps minimize crosstalk between pairs and maintains signal quality at higher frequencies. The stranded conductor construction increases flexibility for routing and patching in confined spaces and shorter patch runs. The cable is suitable for installations that require CAT6 performance characteristics for Gigabit Ethernet and other high-speed network applications.

Suitable for

• Structured cabling in office environments and commercial buildings
• Patch panels and switch-to-switch or switch-to-server connections in data closets
• Short-distance patching where flexibility and frequent movement are needed
• Environments with elevated electromagnetic interference where shielded cabling is recommended

Key specifications

• Cable category: CAT6
• Shielding: S/FTP with paired-in-metal-foil (PIMF) — individual foil per pair plus overall braid or shield
• Conductor type: stranded conductors for increased flexibility
• Number of pairs: 4 twisted pairs
• Typical use: Ethernet and high-speed LAN connections up to CAT6 performance

How to use

Route the cable from patch panel to network device, avoiding sharp bends and sources of strong electrical noise. For best performance, maintain proper bend radius and avoid excessive pulling force during installation. Terminate connectors and patch cords using compatible CAT6 shielded RJ45 plugs and ensure the shield is properly earthed at one point according to local grounding practices. Use stranded cables for patching and flexible connections rather than permanent horizontal runs.

Recommendations

Use this CAT6 S/FTP PIMF stranded cable for patching and short interconnections where flexibility and EMI protection are required; ensure proper grounding of the shield and prefer solid conductors for long permanent horizontal runs.
