Netwerkkabel shiverpeaks BASIC-S Cat7 S/FTP grijs 0,25 m

The ShiverPeaks BASIC-S Cat7 S/FTP networking cable in grey is a short high-performance patch cable with a length of 0.25 m. Designed for use in data networks and server racks where short, reliable connections are required, this Cat7 cable supports high-speed data transfer and improved signal integrity. It is fitted with gold-plated RJ-45 connectors and features S/FTP shielding to minimise crosstalk and external electromagnetic interference while maintaining a compact form factor suitable for neat cable management.

Advantages

The S/FTP construction combines an overall foil shield with individually foil-shielded twisted pairs to provide robust protection against external noise and pair-to-pair crosstalk. Gold-plated RJ-45 connectors ensure consistent contact quality and reduced contact resistance for stable signal transmission. The short 0.25 m length reduces cable clutter and insertion loss in patching applications and is suitable for use where space is limited. The grey jacket offers a neutral visual appearance that blends into professional racks and workstations.

Suitable for

• Short patch connections in server racks and network panels
• Connecting switches to patch panels or nearby devices
• High-speed Ethernet links requiring Cat7 performance over short distances
• Environments where reduced crosstalk and EMI immunity are needed

Key specifications

• Category: Cat7
• Shielding: S/FTP (overall foil + individually shielded pairs)
• Connector type: RJ-45 with gold-plated contacts
• Length: 0.25 m
• Cable colour: Grey
• Typical use: Ethernet, data networking, patching

How to use

Insert each RJ-45 connector into the corresponding port on network devices such as switches, patch panels or routers until the latch clicks into place. Use the 0.25 m cable to create short, direct connections where minimal cable slack is desired. Ensure that connectors are fully seated and that ports are compatible with RJ-45 modular plugs. For best performance, avoid excessive bending near the connector and maintain proper strain relief when routing the cable in racks or enclosures.

Recommendations

Use this short Cat7 S/FTP cable for close-proximity patching and top-of-rack connections where high shielding and minimal length improve signal quality and cable management. Avoid running the cable alongside high-power electrical cables when possible and store spare cables coiled loosely to prevent damage to the shielding or connectors.
