Netwerkkabel ShiverPeaks BS08-26495 zwart 40m Cat6a S/FTP

The ShiverPeaks BS08-26495 Black 40m Cat6a S/FTP networking cable is a 40-metre cable designed for high-speed Ethernet connections that require enhanced shielding and stable transmission. Constructed to Cat6a performance levels, the cable supports 10 Gigabit Ethernet over reliable copper pairs and includes S/FTP (shielded foil twisted pair) protection to limit electromagnetic interference and crosstalk in busy network environments. RJ-45 plugs are gold-plated to ensure consistent contact and corrosion resistance across repeated insertions.

Advantages

The S/FTP design provides individual pair shielding plus an overall foil shield, reducing susceptibility to external noise sources and helping to maintain signal integrity over the full 40 m length. Cat6a specification supports higher frequencies and reduced alien crosstalk compared with lower category cables, enabling stable 10 Gbps links at suitable distances. Gold-plated RJ-45 connectors improve contact reliability and long-term durability. The cable’s black jacket offers a neutral appearance for office or data-centre installations.

Key specifications

• Length: 40 m
• Category: Cat6a
• Shielding: S/FTP (overall foil with individually shielded pairs)
• Connector type: RJ-45 with gold-plated contacts
• Conductor type: twisted copper pairs (solid or stranded depending on variant)
• Colour: Black

How to use

Route the ShiverPeaks Cat6a S/FTP cable between devices ensuring bends are gentle and radius limits are observed to avoid damaging internal conductors or shielding. Terminate each end into compatible RJ-45 ports on switches, routers, patch panels or NICs; if field termination is required, follow the connector and shield grounding instructions provided by the connector manufacturer. Maintain separation from high-voltage power lines where possible and avoid running the cable parallel to sources of strong electromagnetic noise for extended distances.

Recommendations

The cable is intended for horizontal and patch cabling up to 40 m; for permanent structured cabling longer than 40 m or installations requiring plenum-rated materials, verify site requirements and local codes. When connecting to equipment, ensure proper grounding of shielded systems to achieve the intended reduction in interference.
