Netwerkkabel ShiverPeaks BS75715-W 5m Cat6a S/FTP

The ShiverPeaks BS75715-W 5m Cat6a S/FTP networking cable is a shielded Ethernet cable designed for high-speed, reliable wired connections. With a 5‑metre length and S/FTP (shielded foil twisted pair) construction, it reduces electromagnetic interference and crosstalk compared with unshielded alternatives. The cable terminates in RJ‑45 connectors with gold plating for stable contact and improved signal transmission. The white outer jacket offers a neutral appearance suitable for both home and office environments.

Advantages

S/FTP shielding provides improved protection against external interference and maintains signal integrity over longer runs. Cat6a specification supports higher bandwidths and frequencies than Cat6, enabling reliable Gigabit and 10 Gigabit Ethernet performance where cables and equipment allow. Gold‑plated RJ‑45 connectors resist corrosion and ensure consistent contact quality. The 5 m length offers flexibility for typical desk, shelf, and wall routing without excessive slack.

Suitable for

• Connecting desktops, laptops, switches and routers within a small office or home network
• Cabling between networked AV components and media players
• Establishing wired links for gaming consoles or streaming devices
• Temporary or semi-permanent runs in server closets or wiring conduits where moderate shielding is beneficial

Key specifications

• Cable category: Cat6a (augmented Category 6)
• Shielding type: S/FTP (overall braid plus individually foiled pairs)
• Length: 5 metres
• Connector type: RJ‑45 plug to RJ‑45 plug
• Contact finish: gold plated contacts
• Outer jacket color: white
• Supported network speeds: Gigabit Ethernet and suitable for 10 Gigabit Ethernet applications within cable class limits

How to use

Route the cable between devices ensuring gentle bends and avoiding sharp kinks to preserve internal pair geometry. Plug the RJ‑45 connectors firmly into the Ethernet ports of your devices until a click is felt. For shielded connections, ensure equipment or patch panels are grounded appropriately to realise the full benefits of S/FTP shielding. Test the connection after installation using network diagnostics or link/activity indicators on connected hardware.

Recommendations

Use the cable for wired connections where interference reduction and higher bandwidth capability are required. Avoid running the cable in parallel with high-voltage power lines where possible. For permanent installations in exposed or high-traffic areas, consider additional cable management or conduit protection.
