Netwerkkabel ShiverPeaks Cat.6 S/FTP 0,5m

The ShiverPeaks Cat.6 S/FTP 0.5m networking cable is a short patch cable designed for high-speed data connections between network devices. It features S/FTP shielding to reduce electromagnetic and crosstalk interference and RJ-45 connectors with gold plating to ensure reliable contact and consistent signal transmission. The cable's 0.5 meter length and black jacket make it suitable for tidy, short-distance connections in both home and office network setups.

Advantages

S/FTP construction provides improved protection against external electromagnetic interference and near-end crosstalk compared with unshielded alternatives. Gold plated RJ-45 connectors ensure stable conductivity and resistance to corrosion for long-term reliable connections. The Cat.6 specification supports higher bandwidths and data rates than lower-category cables, making the cable suitable for demanding network tasks within its short length.

Suitable for

• Connecting switches, routers and patch panels in rack or desktop setups over short distances
• Linking computers or workstations to network outlets in home offices
• Temporary or permanent connections behind desks or in server cabinets where a compact cable is required

Key specifications

• Cable category: Cat.6
• Shielding: S/FTP (overall braid with individually foiled pairs)
• Length: 0.5 m
• Connector type: RJ-45 to RJ-45
• Connector plating: Gold-plated contacts
• Color: Black

How to use

Insert each RJ-45 connector into the corresponding network ports on your devices until the latch clicks. Use the 0.5 m cable for direct, short-distance connections between network equipment such as patch panels, routers, switches and workstations. Avoid sharp bends near the connector ends and do not apply excessive force when routing the cable through tight spaces to preserve shielding integrity and connector contacts.

Recommendations

For optimal performance, route the S/FTP cable away from high-voltage power lines and large sources of electromagnetic interference. Ensure connectors are fully seated and, when used in patch panels or racks, avoid overstacking that can stress the cable ends. Regularly inspect connectors for dust or corrosion if used in environments with airborne contaminants.
