Netwerkkabel ShiverPeaks Cat 8.1 S/FTP halogeenvrij, 0,25 m, model 08-40000

ShiverPeaks Cat 8.1 S/FTP halogen-free network cable, 0.25 m, model 08-40000 is a short Ethernet patch cable engineered for high-frequency data transmission in constrained rack and equipment environments. The cable features S/FTP shielding (overall braid with individually foil-screened pairs) to minimize crosstalk and electromagnetic interference, and is constructed from halogen-free materials for reduced smoke and corrosive gases in case of fire. With Cat 8.1 performance, this 0.25 m patch lead is intended for high-speed LAN and data center patching where minimal signal loss and stable connections are required.

Advantages

The cable’s S/FTP shielding provides effective protection against near-end crosstalk and external electromagnetic disturbances, improving signal integrity at higher frequencies. Its Cat 8.1 specification supports elevated bandwidth and data rates for short links, while the halogen-free jacket enhances safety in enclosed installations. The compact 0.25 m length reduces cable clutter in racks and patch panels and limits insertion loss compared with longer leads.

Suitable for

• Short equipment-to-equipment connections in server racks and patch panels
• High-speed LAN uplinks and switch-to-switch patching
• Data center top-of-rack and cabinet patch connections
• Environments where halogen-free cabling is required for safety compliance

Key specifications

• Category: Cat 8.1 performance suitable for high-frequency transmission
• Shielding: S/FTP (overall braided shield with individually foil-screened pairs)
• Length: 0.25 m (short patch lead)
• Jacket material: halogen-free compound
• Use case: Ethernet patching for LAN and data center interconnects

How to use

Connect one RJ45 plug of the 0.25 m ShiverPeaks Cat 8.1 cable to the Ethernet port of the source device and the other plug to the target device or patch panel port. Ensure connectors are fully seated and that ports are rated to accept Cat 8.1 or backward-compatible speeds. For best performance, avoid sharp bends and maintain secure, strain-relieved routing inside racks or cabinets.

Recommendations

Use this short S/FTP Cat 8.1 cable for critical patching where minimal path length, robust shielding, and halogen-free construction are required. For longer runs, select appropriately rated structured cabling to preserve Cat 8.1 performance across the link.
