Netwerkkabel ShiverPeaks Cat6 S/FTP 5m

The ShiverPeaks Cat6 S/FTP 5m networking cable provides a 5-meter connection designed for reliable high-speed data transmission. Constructed with S/FTP shielding, the cable combines an overall foil shield with individually shielded pairs to reduce electromagnetic interference and crosstalk. It terminates in RJ-45 connectors with gold plating on the contact surfaces to support consistent conductivity and secure mating in standard Ethernet ports. The grey jacket offers a neutral appearance suitable for home, office, or rack installations.

Advantages

S/FTP construction minimizes external and internal signal disturbances, improving signal integrity for applications that demand stable throughput. Gold-plated RJ-45 contacts enhance contact reliability and reduce oxidation-related degradation over time. The 5 m length balances flexibility and reach for typical desk-to-switch, patch panel, or network device connections without excessive slack. The cable’s Cat6 specification supports higher frequencies and data rates than older categories, making it appropriate for gigabit Ethernet and many modern network setups.

Key specifications

• Cable category: Cat6
• Shielding: S/FTP (overall foil + individually shielded pairs)
• Length: 5 m
• Connector type: RJ-45
• Contact plating: Gold-plated contacts
• Jacket color: Grey
• Typical use: Ethernet up to gigabit speeds, high-frequency data transmission

How to use

Connect one RJ-45 plug to the Ethernet port on your device and the other to a switch, router, or patch panel. Ensure connectors are fully inserted until the latch clicks to establish a secure mechanical and electrical connection. Route the cable to avoid sharp bends and sustained compression; maintain a bend radius consistent with typical cable handling to preserve shielding and conductor integrity. For installations in racks or conduits, secure the cable with appropriate ties or management accessories without over-tightening.

Recommendations

Place the cable away from strong electrical noise sources such as unshielded power lines, large transformers, or high-current cables to maintain optimal performance. For permanent or critical installations, test the link with appropriate network certification or continuity tools to confirm signal levels and pair integrity after installation.
