Netwerkkabel ShiverPeaks Cat6 S/FTP 5m

The ShiverPeaks Cat6 S/FTP networking cable, length 5m, is designed for wired Ethernet connections that require reliable high-speed data transfer. This cable uses S/FTP shielding to reduce electromagnetic and crosstalk interference and is terminated with RJ-45 connectors plated in gold for consistent signal contact. Its black outer jacket provides a discreet appearance suitable for residential or office installations.

Advantages

Shielded S/FTP construction combines an overall foil shield with individually shielded pairs to improve noise immunity in environments with nearby electrical equipment or multiple network runs. Cat6 specification supports gigabit Ethernet performance and stable throughput for multimedia streaming, file transfer and VoIP. Gold-plated RJ-45 contacts reduce oxidation and maintain dependable connectivity over repeated plug cycles. The 5 meter length offers flexibility for typical desk-to-switch or wall outlet-to-router connections without excess cable slack.

Suitable for

• Wired gigabit Ethernet connections in home networks
• Office desktop connections to switches and patch panels
• Connecting routers, NAS devices and media players
• Environments with potential electromagnetic interference

Key specifications

• Category: Cat6 (Class E)
• Shielding: S/FTP — overall foil shield plus individually shielded pairs
• Connector type: RJ-45 with gold-plated contacts
• Length: 5 meters
• Color: Black outer jacket
• Application: Ethernet networks up to gigabit speeds

How to use

Connect one end of the Cat6 S/FTP cable to the RJ-45 port on your network device (router, switch, computer or NAS) and the other end to the corresponding port on the network endpoint. Ensure connectors are fully inserted until you hear or feel the latch click. Route the cable to avoid sharp bends and close proximity to power cables where possible to preserve shielding effectiveness. For wall routing, use appropriate cable clips or trunking to secure the run and prevent strain on the connector ends.

Recommendations

For best performance, keep cable runs under recommended maximum distances for Ethernet (100 meters for copper twisted pair) and avoid tight coils or kinks. When installing near heavy electrical equipment or fluorescent lighting, the S/FTP shielding will help reduce interference; nevertheless, maintain some separation from high-voltage lines. Periodically inspect connectors for dust or damage and replace the cable if physical wear or connector corrosion is present.
